On 23rd of June 2026 the annual General Assembly was held together with the board meeting in Innsbruck, Austria in cooperation with to the GeoMonitorAT network meeting.
Members were invited to attend the GeoMonitorAT network meeting which took place at the University of Innsbruck and was organized by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions and Water Management. The programme includes expert inputs, an exchange format on research and practice and excursions to large mass movement/landslides in Tyrol on the second day.
The General Assembly was held in a hybrid format. Next to the welcome of new members the cash report and annual report was presented and adopted by the members. The election of the new business management took place. The organizing committee in the pacific rim presented the upcoming conference 2026 in Sapporo, Japan including the latest updates and status. There is a high number of international papers already in the course of approval. The organization of the conference 2028 in Bergen, Norway is already also on the way and the latest information was provided to the members.
Further organizational topics were discussed and it was concluded to continue to closely cooperate on the ongoing topics.

It is a pleasure to announce the next upcoming INTERPRAEVENT conference from 20th - 23rd Octobre in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
The scientific and IP technical advisory board prepares for each IP conference a summary of the main findings concerning the protection from natural hazards out of all written conference submissions. During the IP conference in Vienna, delegates of the Interpraevent members met to discuss the main conference outcomes.
To keep it short, we "compressed" these recommendations on two pages as policy brief:
The conference in Vienna was a great success. We are sure that many positive aspects will remain. It was a great occation to meet, to chat, to learn and mainly to spread experiences for new findings on the protection from natural hazards.

Für die Erarbeitung von Hochwassereinsatzplänen wurde ein Leitfaden herausgegeben.
Aufbauend auf die Ergebnisse der IWP – Integrative Wasserbauliche Praxisgespräche im September 2017 zum Thema "Hochwassereinsatzpläne" wurde ein Leitfaden publiziert. Dieser Leitfaden ist eine Hilfestellung für die Ausarbeitung von Hochwassereinsatzplänen und weist nicht nur auf die erforderlichen Inhalte von Einsatzplänen hin sondern erklärt auch schrittweise die Einbindung von Experten, Einsatzorganisationen und der betroffenen Bevölkerung. Egal ob ein Einsatzplan auf Grund unzureichender Schutzmaßnahmen oder aber auch für den Restrisikofall bei neuen Schutzbauwerken erarbeitet wird, finden sich wertvolle Tipps, um den Einsatzplan als lebendiges Instrument realisieren zu können.
